Calfee News

Calfee client Cablecraft Motion Controls, a Torque Capital Group portfolio company based in Indiana, recently announced that it completed the purchase of Connecticut-based Radial Bearing Corp., a leading designer and manufacturer of rod ends and spherical bearings serving the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets.

Cablecraft is a market leader in the design and manufacture of proprietary or customized engineered motion control products, and this acquisition provides the opportunity for Cablecraft to expand its product offerings and end markets.

The transaction is the fourth addition to Torque Capital Group's Cable Manufacturing & Assembly platform. Torque Capital Group, headquartered in Westport, Connecticut, is a lower-middle market private equity firm that deploys capital behind North American-based manufacturing, niche/enthusiast-branded products, and supply chain service companies, with particular expertise in transportation markets.

Calfee’s legal team was led by Corporate and Finance Group Co-Chair and Partner Brent M. Pietrafese and included Partner Gwen Gillespie Herman. Calfee Partner Brian A. McMahon and Associate Attorney Hunter D. Poindexter handled the financing aspects of the transaction, and Partner Michael K. Gall handled the tax aspects of the transaction.
