Calfee Insurance Coverage Practice Partners James Sullivan and Matt Chiricosta were mentioned in the September 25, 2024, Law360 article, “7th Circ. Judge Surprised Key Argument Left In Footnote.” The article provided an update on a federal appeal of a $110 million judgment that Calfee helped its insurance policyholder client, Sterigenics, win against National Union Insurance Company (an AIG affiliate) in a coverage case involving National Union's duty to defend Sterigenics against ethylene oxide-related mass tort litigation. The cases are Sterigenics U.S. LLC v. National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, Pa., case number 24-1223, and Griffith Foods International Inc. et al. v. National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, Pa., case number 24-1217, in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
