Calfee Partner Matthew A. (Matt) Chiricosta and Associate Nicholas A. (Nick) Bonaminio, both with the firm's Insurance Coverage, Insurance Recovery and Litigation practices, co-authored an article for the February 2022 Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association's Bar Journal titled, "Satisfying Policy Retentions or Deductibles With Other People's Money."

The article discusses how insurance policy deductibles or retentions that must be satisfied when claims are filed before insurers will pay any defense or indemnity costs towards that claim. The attorneys address how the insured party should approach the situation, in terms of who is financially responsibility for any deductibles or retention associated with a claim.
