Matt Chiricosta, Partner With Calfee's Insurance Law Practice, Is Certified as an Ohio State Bar Association Insurance Coverage Specialist

Matthew A. Chiricosta, a Partner with Calfee's Insurance Coverage and Insurance Recovery practice groups, was certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as an Insurance Coverage Specialist.

Thirteen Ohio lawyers were certified as specialists this year, and Matt is the only lawyer certified as an Insurance Coverage Specialist in 2024.

Matt joins Calfee Partner James Sullivan as two of only 23 Ohio lawyers who have earned this credential after passing an intensive examination and demonstrating substantial and continuing involvement in Insurance Coverage Law.

Each certified specialist is required to file annual reports attesting to compliance with program requirements and must be recertified every six years by meeting all of the original requirements for certification except the written examination. The Supreme Court of Ohio established the Commission on Certification of Attorneys as Specialists to identify specialties and set minimum standards for specialty certification. The commission accredits the certifying agencies, of which the Ohio State Bar Association is the largest in Ohio.
