Calfee Partner Brent Pietrafese Leads Legal Deal Team for Systems Innovation Engineering During Investment by Trive Capital

Brent M. Pietrafese, Partner and Co-Leader of Calfee's Mergers and Acquisitions, Divestitures and Sales practice, led the legal deal team, which included Calfee Corporate and Finance Partners Gwen Gillespie Herman and Brian A. McMahon, as well as Associate Hayley N. Thomas, for Systems Innovation Engineering (SIE) in connection with Trive Capital’s investment in the company.

Trive Capital is a Dallas, Texas-based private equity firm with approximately $3.6 billion in assets under management. Trive focuses on investing equity and debt in what it sees as strategically viable middle-market companies with the potential for transformational upside through operational improvement. They seek to maximize returns through a hands-on partnership that calls for identifying and implementing value creation ideas.

SIE is a technology-driven defense services firm that provides systems engineering and design services for radar/RF, directed energy, counter-UAS systems and other emerging defense technologies. They have a proven track record of driving innovation and improving supplier reliability and system affordability across defense supply chains, as well as providing ongoing logistics support.
