Overview
Lewis has extensive experience counseling public and private companies in a wide variety of corporate transactional matters, including domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, equity investments, customer contracts, joint ventures and general corporate governance matters.
Prior to joining Calfee, Lewis served as a Corporate Associate with Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago.
Lewis earned his J.D. cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law where he served as a member of the University of Illinois Law Review, the Corporate Business Law Association and as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Black Law Student Association (BLSA). Lewis was a recipient of the Dykema Gossett 1L Diversity Scholarship Award, the H.H. Harris Foundation Scholarship Award, and the CALI Excellence Award in International Law. Additionally, Lewis participated in the Veterans Legal Clinic and was a Runner-Up in the 2017-2018 Intra ABA Negotiation Competition.
Lewis earned his B.A. in Economics from California State University in Northridge, California. He graduated with honors and was awarded a Certificate of Distinction from the Department of Economics in addition to achieving inclusion on the Dean’s List and serving as a preparer with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
