Overview

Alfred is experienced in supporting attorneys and clients in patent prosecution procedures, including drafting patent specifications. He has significant experience supporting IP-related disputes, including formulating litigation strategies, drafting pleadings and motions in litigation, and attending hearings.

In addition, Alfred has experience drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts, ranging from IP licensing agreements, NDAs, non-compete clauses, software and hardware agreements, and technology collaboration agreements to film release forms, development agreements, distribution agreements, and OEM/ODM contracts.

He has assisted in providing legal opinions on a wide range of IP matters, including evaluating several U.S. patent and pending U.S. patent litigation matters for a transnational company and offering guidance on issues encompassing competition law (Taiwan Fair Trade Act), consumer disputes, product liability and other related matters including cyber law.

Before joining Calfee in 2024, Alfred served as a Senior IP Attorney for a Lee and Li, the largest law firm in Taiwan with clients around the world.

Alfred earned his LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School in 2024. He earned a Master of Law degree from the National Chiao Tung University, Institute of Technology Law, in Hsinchu, Taiwan in 2014, where he served as the Assistant Editor of the Technology Law Review (2010-2014) and Editor of the Technology Law Review (2010).

While attending law school, Alfred served as an intern with Taiwan Taipei District Court.

Alfred earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Control Engineering from the National Chiao Tung University in Hsinchu, Taiwan in 2009.
