On November 20, James Sullivan, partner in our Insurance Recovery group, will speak at the Faith-Based Security Summit – Emergency Planning Workshop – Greater Cleveland. Religious facilities serve people of all faiths and denominations in the Greater Cleveland area. Religious facilities are generally open-access public assembly venues that have been successfully targeted by terrorists on numerous occasions in the past. Typically, religious facilities offer generally unrestricted access to religious services, parking areas and separate educational facilities; building systems that are vulnerable to fire, contamination and blocked exits; and nonprofit status with limited resources for security.
While many faith-based institutions are prepared to handle petty crime, most are not prepared to respond or mitigate more serious threats. This half-day seminar is intended to bring together faith-based ministries and other places of worship to help foster a culture of resiliency.
This seminar includes information about:
- Potential Indicators of Terrorist Activity
- Terrorist Planning Cycle
- Dealing with Difficult Visitors,
- Hate Crimes
- Volunteer Training
- Personal/Family Preparation
- Business Continuity Planning
- Crisis Communications
- Risk Management
- Incident Response
Admission is free, but reservations are required. Register and learn more about the event here
