Stan has been appointed as special counsel by the Ohio attorney general to draft standard bidding and construction documents and design professional and construction manager agreements for most state agencies and institutions, as well as for state-assisted school facilities.  He has also been appointed as special counsel to resolve certain claims involving roads and bridges.  Stan has drafted bid and construction documents and negotiated design professional and construction manager agreements for state high-rise office buildings, performing arts venues, turnpike facilities and a variety of private projects.  He has assisted counties, cities, villages, townships, school districts and special purpose districts with the preparation and negotiation of construction and other contracts and the resolution of bid and construction disputes and contract claims.  He has also drafted and negotiated contracts and resolved disputes on behalf of design professionals, contractors and developers.  Stan has been appointed a referee for construction cases in the Ohio Court of Claims by Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor.

Stan is recognized as one of "America's Leading Lawyers" in Chambers USA 2017 for Construction.

Stan has been elected to the Governing Committee of the American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law and is the chair of the Marketing Committee and a member of the Finance Committee.  Stan is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association Construction Law Committee, Columbus Bar Association Construction Law Committee and Government Agencies Committee and the Central Ohio Builder’s Exchange.
