On Wednesday, August 17, Calfee Halter & Griswold LLP and the J.M. Smucker Company held an all-day women’s leadership summit at the Smucker headquarters in Orrville, Ohio. The objectives of the Summit were to discuss key leadership skills and legacies. Approximately ninety Smucker executives from across the United States attended, along with thirty Calfee attorneys.

Four women from The J.M. Smucker Board of Directors presented. They were Kathryn W. Dindo, former vice president & chief risk officer, FirstEnergy Corp.; Nancy Lopez Knight, founder, Nancy Lopez Golf Company and Nancy Lopez Golf Adventures, LPGA Hall of Fame golfer; Elizabeth Valk Long, former executive vice president, Time Inc.; and Sandra Pianalto, former president & chief executive officer, Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
Jeannette Knudsen, senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for The J.M. Smucker Company spoke on “Career Lessons Learned” and Deborah Tannen, the Keynote speaker, spoke about her book “Talking from 9 to 5, Women and Men Talking at Work.”
