Sarah focuses her practice on business, corporate and commercial litigation and on public law litigation. She advises a variety of clients, from small businesses and municipalities to Fortune 500 companies.
Her recent experience includes being part of a trial team in a two-week, federal criminal jury trial in Youngstown, Ohio. The Calfee team obtained not guilty verdicts on all 22 wire fraud counts and a mistrial on the remaining conspiracy count.
Sarah also participates in SEC investigations, class actions, and securities defense litigation.
Sarah joined the Program Committee of the Federal Bar Association’s Northern District of Ohio Chapter in October of 2016. The Program Committee conducts informative and entertainment programs consistent with the objectives of the Chapter.
She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and her M.B.A from the Weatherhead School of Management at CWRU. Sarah served as a Research Assistant in law school, and she held a variety of leadership positions for the Canada-United States Law Journal, Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She was on the CWRU Mock Trial Team and now serves as an adjunct professor and coach for the team. She also volunteers her time tutoring and mentoring students in the Cleveland Municipal Schools through the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s 3R’s Program.
Sarah worked as a Judicial Extern for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Ohio, and as a Law Clerk/Legal Assistant for an Akron law firm.
As a 2011 Summer Associate at Calfee, Sarah drafted a memo on immunity and spousal privilege for a white-collar crime matter and compiled a 50-state survey on statutory landlord liens.
Sarah joined Calfee in 2012.
