Jennifer L. Vergilii Partner

Jennifer is a partner in Calfee’s M&A practice group. Her practice focuses on counseling publicly and privately-held clients with respect to a wide range of general corporate and business matters as well as mergers and acquisitions. Jennifer is actively involved in many start-up ventures, providing legal advice that allows her clients to make sound business decisions. She is an integral part of each client’s team. Jennifer has extensive experience working with individuals and companies with respect to sales, service, transition and distribution agreements as well as employment and consulting agreements. This background enables her to offer practical advice on a wide range of legal and business issues.

Jennifer is actively involved within Calfee and in the Cleveland community. She serves as the Vice-Chair of Calfee’s Hiring Committee and is the firm’s transactional contact for Lex Mundi. Outside Calfee, Jennifer serves as a board member and on the executive committee for the Achievement Centers for Children and is Calfee’s Case Western Reserve Law School alumni liaison for its annual fund.

Jennifer often speaks at legal seminars or as a panelist, including the Female Entrepreneur Summit, April 25, 2012, with Marcia Wexberg entitled “Maximizing the Value of Your Business and Protecting Its Future Growth” as well as a webinar entitled “How to Sell a Division – Nuts and Bolts” for Corporatecounsel.net, September 15, 2009.

From 1997 to 1999, Jennifer was an associate with the Chicago law firm of Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP before joining the Des Moines firm of Nyemaster, Goode, Voigts, West, Hansell & O’Brien, P.C. She began her tenure with Calfee in 2001 and became partner in 2007.
