Fran’s practice is concentrated in the areas of estate and generation skipping planning, the taxation of estates and trusts and the administration of estates. In addition to a wealth of experience using sophisticated tax strategies such as GRATs, QPRTs, Dynasty Trusts and Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts, she brings to the practice a deep satisfaction in working closely with clients and their families, serving as a trusted counselor and advisor.
Before leaving the practice for an extended sabbatical, Fran was a fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and was a frequent speaker, both locally and nationally, on a variety of topics relating to the estate and generation skipping tax and to the planning concerns of particular relevance to an aging population.
She is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland.
Fran was for many years an estate planning partner in the law firm of Hahn Loeser & Parks. She joined Calfee in 2012.
