Fran’s practice is concentrated in the areas of estate and generation skipping planning, the taxation of estates and trusts and the administration of estates. She provides counsel to clients on asset protection planning, including the Ohio Legacy Trust. In addition to a wealth of experience using sophisticated tax and planning strategies such as GRATs, QPRTs, Dynasty Trusts and Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts, she brings to the practice a deep satisfaction in working closely with clients and their families, serving as a trusted counselor and advisor.
Before leaving the practice for an extended sabbatical, Fran was a fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and was a frequent speaker, both locally and nationally, on a variety of topics relating to the estate and generation skipping tax and to the planning concerns of particular relevance to an aging population.
She is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland.
Fran was for many years an estate planning partner in the law firm of Hahn Loeser & Parks. She joined Calfee in 2012.
